BYU has won two straight since its lone loss at Texas Tech on Nov. 8, taking a 26-14 victory at Cincinnati last week. The Cougars never trailed, with LJ Martin picking up 222 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries while Bear Bachmeier added a rushing score to his 15-of-25 passing performance for 127 yards and no turnovers. Should the Cougars lose on Saturday, they can still reach the Big 12 title game with either an Arizona State loss to Arizona or a sequence of events including West Virginia beating Texas Tech, Arizona State beating Arizona and Utah topping Kansas.
UCF needs a victory on Saturday to become bowl eligible after saving its chances with a come-from-behind 17-14 win over visiting Oklahoma State last week. The Knights trailed 14-0 at the half but fought back for the win when Noe Ruelas knocked in a 34-yard field goal with 57 seconds left. Tayven Jackson threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns, both to Dylan Wade, who finished with four catches for 145 yards. Myles Montgomery picked up 81 yards on 18 carries.
BYU leads the all-time series 3-1, including a 37-24 win at UCF on Oct. 26, 2024.
