Taylor Swift Addresses Turning Down Super Bowl Halftime Show…
Taylor Swift is clearing up the ongoing speculation about why she hasn’t performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. During her recent appearance on The Tonight Show, the singer spoke openly about the rumors and explained her reasoning in her typically thoughtful way.
“Jay-Z has always been really good to me,” Swift said, referring to Roc Nation, which produces the halftime show. “Sometimes our teams will check in, like, ‘How does she feel about it?’ But it’s never been a formal offer.”
She added that her decision not to perform has more to do with her personal life than business. “I’m in love with a guy who plays that sport,” Swift said, referencing her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “He’s out there every week doing something intense and dangerous. I can’t imagine planning choreography while he’s on the field.”
While fans may still hope to see Swift headline the Super Bowl one day, for now, she seems content focusing on her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, and supporting Kelce during the NFL season.
