PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers came into the game with a left wrist injury, and now has left the team’s game against the Buffalo Bills after being strip sacked by Joey Bosa.

Rodgers’ injury was not an aggravation of the left wrist injury, but appeared to be a nose injury. As he was escorted off the field, Rodgers was holding his nose and a towel was put around his face.

He stayed in the blue medical tent for a significant amount of time before being given his helmet and waiting on the sideline. Rodgers is likely to return to the game.

Rodgers has played in the shotgun and a newly-debuted pistol set rather than going under center. While head coach Mike Tomlin said on Friday that Rodgers did take some snaps under center, it does not appear the team wants to test that just yet as he battles the wrist issue.

Rodgers was seen sporting the brace, which is something he has been fitted for last week. He also attempted shotgun snaps to try and see where he was at with his comfortability.

The key indications for him to have played would be all about safety and functionality. Rodgers wants to be able to protect himself, but he also needs to be sure that he can function in the basics of the quarterback position.

Now, it seems all of those boxes are checked, and Rodgers has now returned, but is continuing to play through some issues.
