“This is all the older gear that they wore last year, so they need more room in their lockers. So out with the old, in with the new,” said Kevin Bayus, retail director for the Chiefs.
On Friday, team members were setting up the merchandise in preparation for Saturday morning’s line.

“Last year we saw people arriving as early as 4 or 5 a.m. with camping chairs out front,” Bayus said. “I would say there’s a couple of thousand items and then there’s 15 pallets of shoes, shoes and cleats.”
Fans can buy anything from shirts and pants to collectible items and game used gear. You can buy gear used by the biggest names.

“We’ll have a rack with Mahomes, Kelce, Pacheco, Nick Bolton, Creed Humphrey, just to name a few,” Bayus said.
He said most of the gear is already marked with initials, or the players number.
“So inside of the collar or on the sleeve, you’ll see their name or the number. So, it’s items they’ve either worn in the game underneath their jersey, or they warmed up in their gear or they were in the media and stuff like that,” he added.
FOX4 asked Bayus what he thought were the best items.
“There’s a couple Mahomes and Kelce’s like hoodies and tees, those are probably the coolest just because of the significance of who they are,” he said. “But I would say the Super Bowl 55 football is probably the next closest thing. I know, it’s not rubbed in the mud and prepped, but it’s still a very unique piece and hard to find.”

The store is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or whenever items sell out, although there’s plenty of gear.
“I would say there’s a couple of thousand items,” Bayus said. “And then there’s 15 pallets of shoes, shoes and cleats.” While the gear has been used, for collectors, they’re unique, historic items “It’s a good value. It’s a good story.”
