Detroit Lions DT Alim McNeill on his role upon returning from injury

Detroit Lions DT Alim McNeill said he’s just focused on his own job after the Lions’ win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.

The Detroit Lions are 7-5 after a Thanksgiving loss to the Green Bay Packers, 31-24 on Thursday, Nov. 27.

And after that win, the Lions are getting a break – though not as long as in previous years after Thanksgiving.

The Lions are off on Sunday in Week 13 of the NFL season, but they return on Thursday night of Week 14 – that’s Thursday, Dec. 4 – for a prime-time matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at Ford Field. The Cowboys are also off today, but they won their third straight game on Thanksgiving, beating the Kansas City Chiefs in Texas.

Here’s what you need to know about the Lions’ Sunday off.

Do the Lions play today?

No. The Lions played Thursday, meaning there will be no Lions game today.

When do the Lions play next?
