The Cincinnati Bengals have signed cornerback Jalen Davis off the practice squad to the 53-man roster, the team announced on Monday. Cincinnati also placed linebacker Brian Asamoah II on the injured reserve list.

Davis, a fifth-year player, spent the first 13 weeks of this season on the Bengals’ practice squad. He was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the past two games and made a big impact on defense. According to PFF, Davis was the defense’s third-highest graded player in the 26-20 loss to the Patriots, then was the sixth-highest rated player in the win over the Ravens. He currently sports a 78.9 PFF grade, the third-best on the Bengals defense.

Asamoah, a fourth-year player, suffered a knee injury in Cincinnati’s Week 13 game at Baltimore. His loss leaves the Bengals with just four true linebackers entering their Week 14 matchup with the Buffalo Bills, so look for the Bengals to potentially add another linebacker to the 53-man roster or the practice squad in the coming days.
