That was after he was cut by the New York Jets earlier this year.

It followed a turbulent two-year spell with the team, the first of which was injured plagued.

Rodgers has been mulling over whether he wants to retire from the NFL.

The veteran has spent 20 years in the league, and won a Super Bowl title.

He has nothing left to prove, and is all-but guaranteed to enter the Hall of Fame.

But the Steelers are in desperate need for a quarterback ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Rodgers has held talks with head coach over joining them in recent weeks.

And the QB even admitted he was willing to settle for as little as $10 million a season.

Now, he has made a choice between joining the AFC North giants and hanging up his cleats.

According to well-informed NFL insider Tom Pelissero, he WILL link up with the team.

“Is it the week of minicamp?,” said Pelissero on The Rich Eisen Show.

“Is it the day after minicamp? Is it the week before training camp?

“Is it the day before training camp begins? Somewhere in that bandwidth, I believe.

“I don’t know this for a fact because we’re talking about the enigma of the NFL here.

“I anticipate Aaron Rodgers is going to end up committing to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“It’s a matter of when, not if. It has not changed.”

Rodgers is expected to join the Steelers next month.

There is a three-day window that it is believed he will sign with them before.

It is understood June 10-12 are key dates in the future of the quarterback.

The Steelers’ mandatory minicamp opens during that period.

Rodgers is believed to want to be there to get up to speed with the team.

He will then be their starting quarterback for the Week 1 showdown with the New York Jets.
