Former Kentucky Wildcats offensive lineman Eli Cox battled through some tough times in college career. However, he would wind up starting 38 straight games for the Wildcats and be a steady presence on the offensive line for them.

There were some analysts who thought Cox could be drafted in the later part of the 2025 NFL draft, but it didn’t happen. The undrafted free agency period was kind to him, though, and he received a contract with the Houston Texans.

Cox brings a lot of experience with him to Houston, and he could make the roster as a solid backup on the interior of the line. The Texans failed to protect quarterback C.J. Stroud last year, so there will be a chance for anybody that can hold up.

Cox is one of multiple former Wildcats to got NFL deals in the free agency period after the draft. Big Blue Nation will certainly be rooting for him to make the team and have a successful career.
