New York Jets star running back Breece Hall is not happy with a reporter after the way he handled Jets quarterback Justin Fields getting benched.
Jets beat reporter Brian Costello of the New York Post revealed last month that he approached Fields after news broke that he was being benched in favor of Tyrod Taylor.
“Approached Justin Fields at his locker,“ Costello posted on X. ”He said he was going to get a massage and did not have time to talk. I asked his reaction to move. “‘There’s no reaction. That’s life. [Expletive] happens.’”
Needless to say, Breece Hall made it clear that he did not appreciate the fact that Costello approached Fields at his locker and asked him that question.
“Pathetic move by you tbh,“ Hall posted on X. ”Wish some of y’all would grow up and stop acting like little kids nagging somebody till they get mad lol.”
Hall came to the defense of his teammate, who has thrown for 1,259 yards with 7 touchdowns and 1 interception so far this year. Fields has also rushed for 383 yards and 4 scores, but the Jets are 2-7 with Fields at quarterback.
New York isn’t exactly excelling with Taylor at QB either, though.
In the five games he has appeared in, the Jets are 1-4. Taylor has thrown for 773 yards with 5 touchdowns and 4 picks. He’s also rushed for 143 yards and a score and did lead New York to a win over the Falcons this past weekend.
Justin Fields might have been benched because of poor play, but it’s apparent that his teammates still have his back.
