The New York Jets are adding some reinforcements on the backend of their defense ahead of the Week 14 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
NFL Insider Aaron Wilson shared on social media that the green and white is signing defensive back Samuel Womack to the practice squad.

Womack’s agency, JL Sports, confirmed the news on social media, “Congratulations to client Sam Womack on signing with the @nyjets Practice Squad.”

Womack, 26, entered the league as the No. 172 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft.
He spent the first two seasons of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. That was highlighted by a trip to the Super Bowl on February 11, 2024. San Francisco lost 25-22 to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.
Womack was waived ahead of final roster cuts ahead of the 2024 season. He was claimed on waivers by the Indianapolis Colts. After spending a year with the team, Indy waived the defender ahead of final roster cuts in 2025. Womack was claimed off waivers by the Tennessee Titans. He was with the team until being waived last week.
Womack has appeared in 45 games and has made 10 starts during his career. With those opportunities, Womack has registered 66 tackles, 12 pass deflections, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and one tackle for loss.
