Kentucky’s hire of Will Stein is already paying off dividends on the recruiting trail. 2026 four-star quarterback Matt Ponatoski tells KSR+ that he will be signing his national letter of intent with Kentucky on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback from Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, OH) was originally planning to wait until February to sign. However, after Stein’s hire on Monday, he moved up his signing to Wednesday.
Ponatoski is the nation’s No. 226 overall prospect according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services. Rivals ranks Ponatoski as the No. 14 quarterback and the No. 185 overall player in the 2026 class.
