One week after being released from Pittsburgh’s practice squad, former Steelers linebacker Mark Robinson has a new home in the AFC North.

Robinson, who has spent time with the Steelers, New England Patriots, and New York Jets this season, signed with the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad on Tuesday.

The Browns announced the roster move among a handful, which included placing standout defensive lineman Maliek Collins on the Reserve/Injured list and signing Sam Kamara to the 53-man roster.

Previously, Robinson circled back to the Steelers’ practice squad after being cut during final roster cuts coming out of training camp. He lost out on the final inside linebacker roster spot to rookie seventh-round pick Carson Bruener.

The Steelers re-signed Robinson to the practice squad on November 4. But they let him go on November 25, continuing to shuffle things around on the practice squad.

Now, he’s off to Cleveland, becoming the second former Steelers linebacker in Cleveland behind Devin Bush. Bush has spent the last two seasons in Cleveland.

His tenure with Pittsburgh began after being selected in the seventh round out of Ole Miss in the 2022 NFL Draft. Robinson became a key special teams piece under special teams coordinator Danny Smith, holding down that role for three seasons. In that time, Robinson played 645 snaps on special teams. He wasn’t called upon much on defense, but did see 203 snaps defensively in the Black and Gold.

This season, the Steelers cut Robinson as part of their final roster cuts coming out of training camp. He eventually landed with the New England Patriots. They elevated him three times, including for the Week 3 game against the Steelers. Following those three elevations, Robinson was signed by the New York Jets to the 53-man roster. He spent a few weeks there before being released.

He then circled back to the Steelers and played in two games for Pittsburgh, logging 10 special teams snaps. That’s likely going to be his role in Cleveland, should the Browns elevate him at any point moving forward. Robinson could see the Steelers again in Week 17 when the Steelers head to Cleveland to take on the Browns.
