Before signing Blake Grupe, the Colts worked out Justin Tucker and a familiar face at kicker.
The Indianapolis Colts ultimately ended up signing kicker Blake Grupe to the practice squad, but among those brought in for a workout was former Ravens‘ kicker Justin Tucker.
Up until recently, Tucker was serving a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He has since been reinstated and is eligible to sign with a team.
According to John Breech of CBS Sports, “Tucker was accused of inappropriate behavior, including sexual misconduct, by several massage therapists in the Baltimore area.”
For his career, which has spanned from 2013 to 2024, Tucker made 98.4% of his extra point attempts and 88.6% of his field goal attempts.
However, during the 2024 season, Tucker made only 24-of-32 attempts. His 75% field goal success rate ranked 32nd out of 39 eligible kickers.
Along with Tucker and Grupe, Maddux Trujillo was brought in for a tryout as well. Trujillo signed with the Colts after the 2025 NFL draft and was with the team through training camp, competing with Spencer Shrader for the starting job.
