Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes are solely focused on their upcoming Saturday night showdown in the Big Ten championship game against the Indiana Hoosiers. In this weekend’s matchup, No. 1 ranked Ohio State will look to secure the top seed in the College Football Playoff with a win over No. 2 ranked Indiana.
While the excitement is starting to build for the big game, Ohio State has received some very bad news on the recruiting front.
With the early signing period for this year’s recruiting class opening up on Wednesday, the Buckeyes have a few players they’re keeping a very close eye on. Two wide receivers, in particular, have been the targets of attempted flips from other schools.

Of course, those two wide receivers are none other than five-star recruit Chris Henry Jr. and four-star wideout Kayden Dixon-Wyatt.
Unfortunately, Ohio State has received some brutal news when it comes to Dixon-Wyatt.
According to projections from Rivals, Dixon-Wyatt is expected to flip his commitment away from the Buckeyes. Rivals believes that he will end up changing his commitment to Big Ten opponent USC. That would be a nightmare scenario for Ohio State.
Not only would the Buckeyes be losing one of their top recruits from the 2026 class, they would be losing him to a team that they’ll have to play in their own conference. That is exactly what Day wants to avoid having happen.
Hailing from Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California, Dixon-Wyatt has been committed to Ohio State since May 4, 2025. Losing his commitment at the last second would be a crushing blow for the program’s wide receiver room.
Currently, 247 Sports has Dixon-Wyatt ranked as the No. 6 wide receiver in the 2026 class. They have also ranked him as the No. 47 overall player in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of California.
These are only projections. Dixon-Wyatt has not announced an intention to move his commitment away from the Buckeyes. However, the projections being made insinuate some potential wavering on his side.

USC would be closer to home for him. But, the opportunity to play for “Wide Receiver U” would be difficult to pass up.
Expect to hear more news on Dixon-Wyatt in the near future. For now, fans can only play the wait and see game. Hopefully, Ohio State will be able to pull off a huge win on Saturday night against the Hoosiers.
