The Patriots roll into their bye and made it look routine and easy against the woeful Giants. New England has scored 28, 27, 26 and 33 points in its last four games, is 6-0 on the road and 5-0 against the NFC. The Broncos have trailed in all 12 games, which means they’re slow-starting/late-finishing, playing with fire or both. In the hunt

8. Houston (7-5). The Texans keep on rolling along with four consecutive wins, including over current playoff-spot holders Jacksonville, Buffalo and Indianapolis. The Texans rank tied for second with a plus-9 turnover differential.

9: Pittsburgh (6-6). The Steelers are 2-5 in their last seven games and squandered an opportunity to stay atop the AFC North by getting routed 26-7 at home by Buffalo. The Steelers rank 27th in yards per game and 28th in rushing.

10: Kansas City (6-6). It’s not over for the Chiefs just yet, but they must beat Houston at home on Sunday night (Dec. 7). A loss not only drops Kansas City to below .500, it would also lose the head-to-head tiebreaker to non-division opponents Jacksonville, Houston and Buffalo.
