Grand Valley State offensive tackle Jaylin Caldwell is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in the spring transfer portal window.
According to his representatives at We Get You Offers, Caldwell has locked in official visits to both Kentucky and Florida State, as first reported by Chris Hummer of 247Sports.
The 6-foot-7, 330-pound lineman is a two-year starter with two years of eligibility remaining. After originally committing to Grand Valley State in 2021, Caldwell officially entered the transfer portal on April 18th, looking for an opportunity at the Power 4 level — and it’s clear schools are noticing.
Caldwell brings rare size, strength, and athleticism that make him an intriguing plug-and-play option for major programs. Standing at 6-foot-7 with elite length and a powerful punch at the point of attack, he has proven himself as a natural edge protector. His quick feet allow him to mirror some of the best pass rushers in space, while his strength and motor dominate defenders in the run game. Whether it’s opening holes for running backs or giving quarterbacks extra time in the pocket, Caldwell consistently shows he can anchor an offense.
On top of Kentucky and Florida State, Caldwell has also received offers from North Texas, Southern Miss, and Arkansas State. However, with Power 4 schools now heavily in the mix, it looks like his upside could be unlocked on one of college football’s biggest stages.
Caldwell’s football IQ, flexibility, and physical tools suggest he’s ready to step into a larger spotlight immediately. With two years left to develop even further, whoever lands him could be getting a key piece for their offensive line in both the short and long term.
Expect his recruitment to continue heating up as he takes visits and narrows down his next destination.
