INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Could the Colts’ kicking woes be coming to a close? The team on Wednesday announced the signing of kicker Blake Grupe to the practice squad.

Grupe signed with the New Orleans Saints in May 2023 as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. He appeared in 45 career games for the Saints from 2023-2025, connecting During that time, he connected on 75-of-94 field goal attempts and 86-of-88 extra points for 311 total points.

In 11 games for the Saints this season, Grupe was 18-of-26 on field goal attempts and made all 15 PATs.

The signing comes one day after Indianapolis waived kicker Michael Badgley, who missed his third extra point of the season in Sunday’s 20-16 loss to the Houston Texans. The Colts added Badgley in mid-season to replace Spencer Shrader, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL and MCL in his right knee in Week 5.

In a corresponding move, the Colts on Wednesday released center Jimmy Morrisey from the practice squad.
