Prior to rookie minicamp, the Indianapolis Colts agreed to contract terms with fourth-round draft pick Iowa State offensive tackle Jalen Travis. Over the Cap now has those contract details.
When it comes to rookie deals, the rookie wage scale sets the parameters, based on where the player was drafted, that puts in place a ceiling and a floor for how much each draft pick can earn over their standard four-year contract.

For Travis, who was the 127th overall pick, his total contract value over the four-year deal is $5.121 million and includes $921,268 guaranteed as a signing bonus.
From a cap perspective, that signing bonus amount will be prorated over the four years of the contract, in the form of a $230,317 cap hit each year.
In Year 1, Travis will earn a base salary of $840,000. In Year 2, it increases to $1.005 million, followed by $1.120 million in Year 3, and $1.235 million in Year 4.

As Iowa State’s left tackle in 2024, Travis was one of the best pass-blockers at his position group last season, ranking 15th in PFF’s pass blocking efficiency metric.
The addition of Travis helps bolster the Colts‘ tackle depth, which in turn, provides them with added flexibility to move Matt Goncalves to the right guard position.
“Got natural power in his body,” Colts’ OL coach Tony Sparano said of Travis. “I just see some rare stuff in him. High lean mass, strength, length. He does use his hands correctly. He plays on his feet for a guy that’s almost 6-8; he ain’t on the ground. I think this guy’s going to be able to strike and anchor pretty well.”
