Carolina Panthers wideout Tetairoa McMillan has finally won over the franchise’s all-time leading receiver.

Steve Smith Sr., as part of this week’s business on his 89 podcast, broke down the Panthers’ shocking upset win over the Los Angeles Rams. He and host James Palmer wrapped up the discussion by chatting about the emergence of McMillan, who caught the go-ahead 43-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of the 31-28 victory.

And Smith, who has previously expressed his doubts about McMillan as Carolina’s first-round selection in 2025, changed his tune on the impressive rookie . . .

McMillan, through 13 games, has reeled in 57 passes for 826 yards and six touchdowns. He enters Week 14 as the NFL’s eighth-leading pass catcher—behind only Jaxon Smith-Njigba, George Pickens, Puka Nacua, Ja’Marr Chase, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Trey McBride and Wandale Robinson.

With four games left on the slate, McMillan has already amassed the second-most receiving yards in a season for a Panthers rookie. He sits just 182 yards behind Kelvin Benjamin’s 1,008-yard rookie campaign from 2014.
