TOMLIN ON MINNESOTA
Mike Tomlin has been under some criticism recently because of the Steelers’ issues. There’s a lot of speculation about his future. While he’s struggled in the postseason recently, Tomlin has put together a great career. He won a Super Bowl, and he’s yet to have a losing season. Before he joined the Steelers, though, Tomlin spent a single year as the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator.
Although Tomlin was with the Vikings for only that year, it sounds like he enjoyed his time there. KDKA’s Cassidy Wood posted a video on Twitter showing Tomlin talking about Minnesota with new Steelers wide receiver Adam Thielen. Thielen spent 10 of his 12 NFL seasons with the Vikings, and Tomlin was talking to him about how much he enjoyed his time in the area.

KILLEBREW RECALLS CONNECTING WITH A FAN
Miles Killebrew has been with the Steelers since 2021. While he’s mainly a special teams player, he’s still been very valuable. Killebrew was even named a First-team All-Pro in 2023, and he’s made two Pro Bowls with the Steelers. Unfortunately, a knee injury in Week 6 knocked him out for the whole season. However, Killebrew’s impact off the field can’t be understated.
Recently, Sports Business Journal shared a video on Twitter where Killebrew recalled an encounter with a fan during training camp. He explained that he spent one of his recent birthdays at a children’s hospital, and he made a connection with a fan there. Then, he met that same fan again at training camp. It goes to show what a leader Killebrew is.
Some moments stick with you forever.

ANNIVERSARY OF BATCH BEATING RAVENS
The Steelers have had some classic games against the Baltimore Ravens over the years. There have been plenty of Hall-of-Fame talents involved in those matchups. That includes Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed. However, some other less notable players have had big performances in those games, too.
That includes Charlie Batch. Batch was the Steelers’ backup quarterback from 2002-2012. Wednesday marks the 13-year anniversary of his beating the Ravens 23-20 in the last game he ever played in. It was an exciting game, and it’s an example of why Batch was a fan favorite.
