The battle for Alabama’s Class 1A football supremacy comes down to a collision of perfect seasons as the Maplesville Red Devils (14-0) and defending champion Wadley Bulldogs (13-0) prepare to face off Thursday afternoon at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium.
Maplesville, seeking its first state title since completing a three-peat in 2016, enters with tremendous momentum after dismantling Leroy 59-18 in the semifinals. The Red Devils’ championship quest, however, must overcome the painful memory of last year’s title game, where Wadley dominated 37-7 en route to the crown.
The Bulldogs, who edged Addison 22-14 in their semifinal matchup, aim to prove their 2024 triumph was no fluke and establish a championship streak of their own.
With both small-school powerhouses sporting unblemished records, this rematch promises to deliver championship-caliber drama as rural Alabama’s finest programs battle for a coveted state title.
Opening kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT on Thursday, December 4 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
