Heavy rain could disrupt Christmas parade, Jaguars game

  • December 4, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville, it looks like Mother Nature may be making some plans of her own for our big weekend events.

Both the Christmas parade on Saturday and the Jaguars game on Sunday are expected to be affected by rain. Right now, the latest Exact Track 4D guidance shows that much of the heaviest rain should stay just south of EverBank Stadium during the Jags game, which is some good news. Still, expect showers to be in the area as the weekend unfolds.

For the Christmas parade on Saturday, keep your rain gear ready. The heaviest rainfall is forecast to hit Saturday night, but scattered showers are likely throughout the day.

Cold mornings with wind chills

It’s a chilly start across our area!

At 6 a.m. this morning, Jacksonville was sitting at 41 degrees, but with the wind chill it felt even colder. Many spots across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia dipped into the 30s and low 40s.

The wind isn’t too strong at first, but those gusts are expected to pick up as the day goes on, so be ready for it to feel colder than the thermometer reads.

Flooding concerns from incoming rain

I know we need the rain, but the amount coming in all at once means localized flooding could be an issue this weekend. Our rain chances really jump up Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with Saturday and Sunday looking the wettest.

The bulk of the heavy rain is expected Saturday evening into the overnight hours, making for some tricky travel and event plans. By Sunday morning, most of the heavier rain moves south of downtown, and we may catch a break by lunchtime. Some scattered showers could still pop up, so keep checking News4JAX’s Exact Track 4D radar for the latest.
