An easy strength of schedule isn’t expected to result in many wins.
The New Orleans Saints are seen as one of the NFL’s low-end teams at the moment, and their lack of success has led to a full coaching overhaul and a decent chunk of the roster being overturned as well. With the team struggling to gain any resemblance of momentum in recent seasons, they will come into 2025 with no primetime games to their name and a pretty bad rapport with fans.
This extends to the betting markets as well, as DraftKings Sportsbook has them as underdogs in 16 of their 17 games. This is the matchup against the New York Jets, where they are only favored to win by 1.5 points. Only two other teams across the entire NFL received the same level of pessimism, which are the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants, two of the lower-performing teams in the sport.
The Saints deserve to be considered amongst this group in all honesty. While they have made some good signings this offseason and had a solid draft, they have plenty of work ahead of them before they become truly competitive again. Despite high confidence in the new coaching group, it will take time to get the roster caught up to the image they may have in mind for a successful franchise.
