The Buffalo Bills made an intriguing addition via the NFL’s wavier wire.

Well, he did not personally line up against the Bills… but ironically enough, Slay was just prepping to play against Buffalo. The Pittsburgh Steelers released him and the Bills claimed him. That was the Bills’ last opponent.
Slay was a healthy scratch in Week 13, but that’s one interesting turn of events for him to now be a Bills player.

A second-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2013 out of Mississippi State, he played there until 2019 and was named a first-team, All-Pro in 2017. Slay then was with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2020-2024 and he won the Super Bowl with them just last season.

In a 2015 piece by the Detroit Free Press, Slay’s then-5-year-old son Darion would make one request of his father before each game, “Don’t get Mossed.”

Slay evidently likes to stream while playing some video games, such as baseball:

While he has a strong past, Slay will be a depth option for the Bills… but a great one. He’s a massive upgrade on Ja’Marcus Ingram who was released to make room for Slay on the roster. If any injury strikes down the stretch, Slay is a great backup plan.
