The Wolverines pulled off a stunning flip at the last moment during the early signing period of the 2026 recruiting class, as four-star wide receiver Brady Marchese announced he has flipped from Georgia to Michigan on Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 183-pounder is from Cartersville, Georgia and had been committed to his hometown Bulldogs since March. Despite that verbal commitment, Marchese took a surprise official visit to Ann Arbor the first weekend of June before shutting down his recruitment and sticking with Georgia.

Fast forward to Wednesday, and Marchese reached out to the Wolverines to see if they would still be potentially interested in him joining the team, according to The Michigan Insider’s Sam Webb ($). This news came following the stunning development that four-star wide receiver Zion Robinson — who committed to Michigan in June — would be holding off on signing “until further notice.” News broke Thursday morning that he was flipping his commitment and signing with Stanford.

Needless to say, a lot has happened over the last 24 hours. The Wolverines finally locked in a third wide receiver in the class to pair up with four-star Travis Johnson and three-star Jaylen Pile, who both signed with Michigan on Wednesday.

Losing Robinson is a bummer, but Marchese is a really good prospect in his own right and has racked up a ton of stats the last two years. As a senior this fall, he racked up 41 receptions for 981 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a junior, he had 44 receptions for 1,051 yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s a very athletic player, as he ran a 10.92 100-meter dash earlier this year for the track and field team.

Marchese is ranked No. 20 at the wide receiver position, No. 15 in the state of Georgia and No. 134 overall on 247Sports’ composite. Check out his latest full highlight reel from his junior season below.
