Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive end Travon Walker has been sidelined for the last two games.
He suffered a knee injury in the Jaguars‘ Week 11 win over the LA Chargers and has been out since.
“Man, it’s always rough if you not playing,” Walker said. “I feel like that’s for anybody … it’s always going to be hard watching your teammates go out there and battle and you not being able to go out there and battle with them. So it’s definitely a little difficult.”
Along with navigating his current knee injury, Walker also missed practice time and the Jaguars’ Week 5 matchup against Kansas City with a wrist injury.

Even in Weeks 6 and 7, when he returned from that injury, Walker was still on a snap count in those matchups.
“This is the most banged up I’ve been since early college,” Walker said.
The good news is that Walker was back on the practice field on Thursday. He was limited, but this was his first practice since sustaining the knee injury against the LA Chargers.
In his absence, Dennis Gardeck has taken on a larger role at defensive end next to Josh Hines-Allen, while BJ Green, Danny Striggow, and Emmanuel Ogbah filled rotational roles.
This season, Walker has generated 25 quarterback pressures and three sacks. He’s also logged 18 tackles and has continued to make an impact against the run.

“Obviously it makes it a little tougher, but what is life without lessons,” Walker said. “That’s just how I look at it. I mean, God put me in this position for a reason. I’m not running from it, I’m just trying to attack every obstacle the best way possible. I feel like that’s going to make me into the man that I am.”
