The Eagles are on the board as 2.5-point favorites as they set out to snap a two-game losing streak and silence internal noise with an offense that can’t seem to find its footing. Among teams with winning records this season, the Eagles rank last in total offense (304.8 ypg) and third-to-last in scoring (22.5 ppg) behind the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans. The Eagles were afforded more margin for error to reach the NFC Playoffs when the Dallas Cowboys fell to the Detroit Lions, 44-30, on Thursday night, but the end goal for the Super Bowl champs remains higher and recording just 14 first downs in last week’s home loss to the Chicago Bears (24-15) wasn’t good enough.

The Chargers carry an identical 8-4 season record with perhaps no fewer questions about their viability as playoff contenders. Los Angeles opened the season with three straight wins, two of which were high-quality results against AFC West rivals Kansas City (27-21) and Denver (23-20), but otherwise registered six other wins over teams with a combined 18-42 record. Still, the Chargers have won four of their past five contests and sit in the No. 5 position in the AFC playoff standings while claiming a franchise quarterback in Herbert, a coach in Jim Harbaugh who has a winning pedigree, and an identity built around a defense that ranks second in the NFL against the pass (168.3 ypg) and third in total yardage (275.3 ypg).
