Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl safety Julian Love and veteran defensive tackle Jarran Reed are both expected to return from injury for Sunday’s Week 14 road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, head coach Mike Macdonald told the media on Friday afternoon.

Huard: This is the best defensive front in Seahawks history

That came after neither Love (hamstring) nor Reed (wrist, thumb) were given a game status designation on Friday’s injury report. Both players are still on injured reserve, but the Seahawks have two open 53-man roster spots to activate them off IR ahead of Sunday’s game.

Love has missed nine of Seattle’ 12 games with a hamstring injury, including each of the past eight games. Reed has missed the past four games after undergoing surgery to repair a wrist/thumb injury. Both players returned to practice this week.

The only two Seahawks with game status designations on Friday’s injury report were wide receiver/kick returner Dareke Young (quadricep) and rookie defensive end Rylie Mills (knee). Young is on IR, while Mills has spent all season on the non-football injury list while rehabbing from a torn ACL that he suffered last December.

That means every other player who appeared on Seattle’s injury report this week is considered healthy enough to play on Sunday. That includes running back Kenneth Walker III (glute), right guard Anthony Bradford (elbow, calf), tight end AJ Barner (knee, shoulder), wide receiver Cody White (abdomen) and safety Ty Okada (oblique).
