The Tennessee Titans have played in relatively good weather through 12 games this season, but that is likely to be put to the test Sunday at Cleveland.

There is snow in the forecast leading up to kickoff and during the game with the temperature predicted to be 34 at kickoff with winds of 10-15 miles per hour as well off Lake Erie.

Interim coach Mike McCoy said the weather does play a role in how he will manage the game and what plays are called.

“:You always go into—anytime you have a weather game, you go into it saying, ‘Okay, this is how you have to play it.’ In a hurry you can cross X number of things off your call sheet,,” McCoy said. “How you want to—whether it’s running the ball, throwing the ball, kicking it, there’s certain things you got to do, you got to plan ahead because especially here, this game, the weather can change in a hurry.

“I’ve been here before and it’s snowing. You go in to start a game before you come out for the opening kickoff and next thing you come out and it’s gorgeous outside. So it’s always changed there, so there’s a number of things that you’ll take into consideration throughout the entire game.”

McCoy said he is hopeful that Cam Ward’s strong arm might be a plus for the Titans, even with the weather less than ideal for throwing the football.

“That’s a big thing. That that’s a huge plus. Someone like myself, like I told you in Saskatchewan, I was not recommending throwing the ball. Cam’s (Ward) arm’s a heck of a lot stronger than mine was so I’ve got all the confidence in the world. He loves playing in in this type of weather and in practice all week long he was chirping with everybody about this is football weather and stuff like that. So you let’s just love his attitude and go out there and play,” McCoy said.

For his part, Ward said cold weather doesn’t bother him. He said he once played in a game where the temperature was around 10 degrees while at Washington State.

“You get a little bit more grip on the ball in the cold. So it’s going to be exciting to get back in my element and just try to play football and help lead my guys,” Ward said.

Injury update

The Titans have declared cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (Achilles) and center Lloyd Cushenberry (foot) out for Sunday’s game against the Browns.
