After the Chiefs announced that Josh Simmons would be placed on injured reserve earlier this week, they may be down several other players on Sunday, including two on the offensive line. Head coach Andy Reid said that cornerback Chris Roland-Wallace will be out with a back injury when the Chiefs play the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Wide receiver Nikko Remigio is also out with a shoulder injury. Offensive linemen Trey Smith and Jawaan Taylor were listed as doubtful on Friday with ankle and triceps/knee injuries, respectively. The pair haven’t practiced all week, making their appearance on Sunday unlikely, though Reid says they are progressing. “I think it’ll be a stretch for them to get there, so, (if) the other guys play, they play. We have trust in everybody there,” Reid said. Reid said Smith is probably closer to returning than Taylor. Jaylon Moore and Wanya Morris will take their places if they are out. With Simmons out and others possibly out, the Chiefs also moved up Esa Pole to play this week. “I thought he did a good job,” Reid said. “He’s a smart kid, so he was able to pick it up fast and get some reps in there. We’re kind of moving people around a bit, so he jumped in and did some good stuff there.” Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco told reporters Friday that he was “confident” in the offense despite the possibility of having multiple starters out.
