On Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin once again ruled out defensive tackle Derrick Harmon with a knee injury. As expected, Harmon did not practice all week and has been officially ruled out for Sunday.
After getting roughed up a little on Sunday, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to play again this week with his fractured left wrist even though he was expected to be limited to start the week. For this reason, Rodgers was listed as not participating on Wednesday. On Thursday, Rodgers was back as a full participant. Friday saw Rodgers as full once again and with no injury status for Sunday.
Two players who suffered injuries in the last game and were expected to be limited early in the week were linebacker Patrick Queen with a glute injury and cornerback James Pierre who is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. On Wednesday, Queen did not participate while Pierre was a limited participant and has a chance to move through the protocol this week. On Thursday, both players progressed as Queen returned as a limited participant while Pierre was full. Friday brought the same designations as Thursday and no injury status for either player.
Missing time during practice last week but playing in the game was wide receiver Ben Skowronek, who was dealing with a shoulder injury. To start this week, Skowronek was limited in practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, Skowronek was once again limited. Friday saw Skowronek back to a full participant with no injury designation.
Coming off the field after being stepped on at the end of Sunday’s game, T.J. Watt is now on the injury report with a toe injury. Watt did not practice on Wednesday, but that has been typical lately but was labeled as due to rest. Thursday saw Watt return as a full participant. Friday was another full participation for Watt with no injury status for Sunday.
A curious injury which popped up was to backup offensive tackle Calvin Anderson who was limited in Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury. Not playing in Sunday’s game, it is likely that Anderson suffered the injury during Wednesday’s practice as he was unable to practice on Thursday. Friday was Anderson miss practice again and he has been ruled out for Sunday, meaning the Steelers will have to turn to the practice squad to give them the eight require offensive linemen for Sunday.
A new player to the Steelers injury report is 2025 seventh round draft pick Donte Kent. Placed on the Reserve/Injured List in September with an ankle injury, it was announced on Wednesday that Kent had his 21-day practice window opened as he returned on Wednesday as a limited participant. But Kent now also has a designation of a knee injury, which looks like it was something new from Wednesday’s practice. Thursday saw Kent not able to participate and might put him in a similar situation as Cory Trice from earlier this season. Friday it was confirmed that Kent suffered and injury on Wednesday and has been ruled out for the season, therefore he no longer appears on the injury report.
The final two names on Wednesday’s injury report were players who missed some time due to rest. Safety Jalen Ramsey was given the day off while wide receiver DK Metcalf was limited. On Thursday Metcalf returned as a full participant while Ramsey once again didn’t practice. Friday saw another full for Metcalf while Ramsey was limited but with no injury designation for Sunday.
On Thursday, two new names were added to the injury report. Safety Kyle Dugger missed practice with a hand injury and Joey Porter Jr. was limited with an elbow injury. Porter was back to a full participant on Friday with no injury designation, but Dugger missed practice again and has been ruled out for Week 14.
One new name appeared on Friday’s report with Isaac Seumalo getting the day off due to rest, a pattern that has been there the last several weeks, but with no injury status for the game.
