GREEN BAY — Jayden Reed would’ve loved to have been on his way to a meeting where head coach Matt LaFleur or general manager Brian Gutekunst were informing him that he’d be activated off injured reserve for Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bears.

Instead, the Green Bay Packers wide receiver was headed elsewhere as he departed the locker room on Friday afternoon.

“I’m going to get a haircut,” Reed said with a smile. “I get one, like, every Friday.”

That’s a lot of haircuts since Week 2, when Reed suffered a fractured right collarbone that required surgery and landed him on IR for the past 12 games. But it appears he’s on the cusp of being cut loose.

The Packers officially listed Reed as questionable on the injury report Friday, a departure from the previous two games they’ve played since his 21-day practice window opened on Nov. 21.

For both the Packers’ Nov. 23 win over the Minnesota Vikings and their Thanksgiving Day win over Detroit, Reed was ruled out ahead of time. And while he must be added to the 53-man roster by 3 p.m. Saturday to be able to play against the Bears, the Packers cleared a roster spot for him on Friday by placing defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (ankle) on IR.

Asked if he thought Reed was ready to play, LaFleur replied, “I hope so. We’re still kind of going through that process of being fully cleared medically.”

That clearance figures to come Saturday, although Reed was trying to temper his expectations.

“I’m just really going with the flow, man,” Reed said. “I won’t know until I know. I don’t want to get too excited and get some bad news.”

Meanwhile, the Packers listed four other players as questionable, too: Safety Javon Bullard (ankle), cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), wide receiver Matthew Golden (wrist) and defensive end Brenton Cox (groin), who like Reed is on IR and would have to be added to the roster in order to play against the Bears.

Golden appears likely to miss his third straight game and fourth in the last five weeks, having missed the Packers’ Nov. 10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a shoulder injury. Golden played 19 snaps and had a 24-yard reception against the New York Giants the following week, but now is sidelined by the wrist.

“I’m doing good, just taking it one day at a time,” Golden said Friday. “I’m just, obviously, pushing through [the wrist injury] and trying my best to get back on the field. Just trying to physically get my body right so I could try to help the team as much as I can.”

The Packers ruled out wide receiver Savion Williams (foot) and defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot), along with defensive end Collin Oliver (hamstring) and running back MarShawn Lloyd (calf).

Lloyd, who is on IR, and Oliver, who is on the physically unable to perform list, have yet to play this season and will need more ramp-up time to be cleared medically.

“It’s just getting back into football — catching the ball, running the ball, just getting back into football shape,” Lloyd said. “I missed a lot of games, but I do feel like I can do some things to help. Whenever my number is called, I’ll be ready to go.”
