Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant shared his honest thoughts on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ underwhelming 2025 campaign.
On Friday’s episode of the “Up & Adams” show, he was questioned about how missing the playoffs might negatively impact the three-time Super Bowl champion’s legacy with the Chiefs. Durant did not hesitate to defend Patrick Mahomes and his successful career so far in the NFL.
Thanks for the submission!
“What kind of a question is that?” Durant said. “That makes no sense at all. If anybody is questioning Pat Mahomes legacy from a one off year, he can miss the playoffs for the rest of his career, I don’t give a damn. This man is Patrick Mahomes.

Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown shares his honest thoughts on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ playoff chances
Despite a two-game losing streak, the Chiefs are still in the playoff conversation. However, they cannot afford any mistakes in the remaining regular-season games.
On Wednesday, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown shared his perspective on the Chiefs’ playoff chances, stating that Patrick Mahomes and his team still have a chance.
“It’s not cooked for the Chiefs until it’s cooked, so they’re still in it,” St. Brown said on his podcast (Timestamp- 3:18). “They’re not ruled out of the playoffs yet. So, until they’re ruled out of the playoffs, don’t rule them out because of who they have at quarterback, their winning history, they know how to win games.
“They’ve won games in the past. They might not be winning as many games this season, but they’ve still won some games this season. So, and it’s not like they’re getting blown out. They’re losing close games, a bunch of close games. So, no, to answer your question, no, they’re not cooked.”
The Chiefs will next face the Houston Texans (7-5) on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET. Can they end their two-game losing streak in Week 14
