Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride ‘thankful’ for Pro Bowl votes

Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride says he’s thankful for all of those who voted for him and considers him a top tight end in the league.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is already acknowledging Arizona Cardinals starting tight end Trey McBride’s career.

McBride is off to an elite start to his career, having already surpassed former All-Pro Jimmy Graham’s record for most catches in the first four seasons of an NFL tight end’s career.

Graham had 301 receptions in his first four seasons (2010-2013). McBride caught his 302nd pass during his Week 13 matchup at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Nov. 30. His jersey from that game is now being displayed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio:

After his record-setting catch, he caught seven more passes in the game to get to 309 receptions in his career. He posted 82 receiving yards and a touchdown reception in that contest as well.

McBride leads the NFL in receptions this year at 88, and he has recorded 879 receiving yards with eight touchdown catches. McBride has amassed 3,115 receiving yards to this point in his career, and has five more games left this season.

McBride made his first Pro Bowl roster last season. In the season Graham set the previous record, he was named First-Team All-Pro. McBride has a legitimate chance at both honors this season, as he leads the NFL’s tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.

McBride is on pace for his second straight season with at least 111 receptions and at least 1,146 receiving yards. He has already scored two more touchdown receptions this year than he had in his entire career before this season.

McBride’s next opportunity to continue producing will be at home against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 7.
