The Los Angeles Chargers are partnering with LA Animal Services (LAAS) to host their third annual holiday pet adoption event this Saturday, December 6, at the Chesterfield Square/South LA Animal Shelter, offering a chance for local families to meet adoptable pets and learn about fostering and adoption programs.
The event, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1850 W 60th St, Los Angeles, will feature more than 300 pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and gerbils, all available for adoption.
Adoption fees for dogs and cats at the South LA shelter will be waived during the event, thanks to the collaboration between the Chargers and LAAS. Families adopting from other LAAS shelter locations on December 6 and 7 will receive 50% off adoption fees.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to see the animals’ personalities in action. Dogs Playing for Life, a national organization promoting dog enrichment, will host playgroups throughout the day, allowing visitors to interact with the dogs outside of their kennels.

The Michelson Found Animals Foundation will provide free pet food and distribute dog tags, collars, leashes, and microchip registration for pets adopted during the event.
The first 50 adopters at the South LA shelter will receive complimentary gift bags with items donated by The Gentle Pit, Poppi, and Melissa’s. Reduced adoption fees at other LAAS shelters will range from $12.50 for cats to $75 for puppies, not including standard licensing fees for Los Angeles residents.
The annual event, known as PetLApalooza, is designed to encourage community members to adopt or foster pets while showcasing animals from the Chesterfield Square/South LA shelter. LA Animal Services emphasized the opportunity for visitors to meet animals ready to join their families and learn more about responsible pet ownership.
