Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson declared for the NFL draft on Friday afternoon. He made the announcement on social media.

The declaration for the draft comes after a spectacular 2025 season. He recorded 251 carries for 1.451 yards and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry, and a 70-yard run against Iowa was his longest of the season.

Johnson had 450 carries for 2.460 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in his Husker career. He also had 92 receptions for 702 yards and five touchdowns during his time in Lincoln. Earlier this week, he won the Big Ten Running Back of the Year award and was named a first-team All-Big Ten.

This is certainly going to change the outlook of the Huskers’ running back room next season. However, Johnson’s stock has never been higher. This could be an opportunity for him to become an early pick in the NFL draft.
