Who to root for: Root for the Eagles
Why: Entering Sunday, the Chargers, Colts and Bills are all 8-4 and occupy the 5th, 6th and 7th AFC seeds, respectively. A Bills win and Chargers loss will move Buffalo up to the No. 5 seed and a 96% chance to reach the playoffs; L.A. would fall to the No. 7 seed.
Houston Texans (7-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (6-6) | Sunday, Dec. 7 at 8:20 p.m.
Who to root for: Root for the Chiefs
Why: The purpose of this article series is to outline Buffalo’s smoothest path to the playoffs and a Texans loss would open up some breathing room in the Wild Card race. While a Chiefs win increases their playoff odds, it helps Buffalo’s as well.
A Texans loss and a Bills win would increase Buffalo’s playoff chances to 97% and its Wild Card odds to 86%.
However, a Chiefs loss would drop KC’s playoff odds to 10%.
