As a five-star recruit coming out of Southeast Polk High School, Kadyn Proctor was the top-ranked offensive tackle and No. 5 recruit nationally in the 2023 recruiting class. He initially committed in-state with the Iowa Hawkeyes before ultimately choosing the Crimson Tide on signing day. Proctor won the starting job at left tackle after his performance in fall camp and was named to the Freshman All-American team.

For his first two years, Proctor would see his season end at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines. First, it was the Rose Bowl in 2023, then the ReliaQuest Bowl in 2024. He spent a combined 26 games blocking the blindside of Jalen Milroe before Ty Simpson took over the quarterback position in 2025.

According to Pro Football Focus’ premium statistics, Proctor has seen his blocking grade improve with each season that passes. He posted a career-high 83.2 grade in his junior season after averaging a grade of around 69.0 as both a true freshman and sophomore.

Best Tools:

Kadyn Proctor is one of the best run blockers in the 2026 NFL Draft, and this is due in large part to his Mekhi Becton-like measurements. At 6-foot-7 and nearly 370 pounds, Proctor is at his best when working downhill and near the line of scrimmage. He is able to sustain blocks and move opposing defensive lineman off their spot with ease. He is aggressive in terms of initiating the first point of contact and rarely loses his grip once latching on.

For a player with such a massive frame, Proctor is quite the athlete. He is elite at moving from one block to another quickly and effectively when navigating laterally around the line of scrimmage. His rare combination of athleticism and power allows him to perform pull blocks from the left tackle position and make an impact as a blocker in the second level.

As a pass blocker, Proctor knows to stay patient and trust that his size will give him the advantage. He excels at absorbing power moves or bull rushers with an exceptionally strong anchor and lower half. Proctor also has a unique ability to execute double-team blocks all on his own. There are reps on film where he takes two rushers out of the play or uses his strength to knockdown his first matchup before finishing off another defender.

Tools to Improve:

Kadyn Proctor is just a naturally tall and big player which makes it hard for him to get a good pad level. He plays upright on almost every snap which means he rarely plays with an advantage in terms of leverage. It seems that Proctor is scared to extend his arms at times which allows his matchup to get too close to his chest. His hand placement is inconsistent and lacklustre. It is typically too wide or high and because he lets defenders get too close to his chest, his strikes are late and poor.

There is no doubt that Proctor is a gifted athlete but sometimes his feet move faster than his eyes, especially out in space. He doesn’t do a great job of identifying who to block on screen passes or when working ahead of the ballcarrier down the field. For a player with his kind of stature, it would be nice to see Proctor seek out punishment and contact rather than letting defenders run around him.

NFL Projection:

Kadyn Proctor has the blend of tools that you cannot teach. Players with his mass and length rarely move the way he does and this gives him a very high ceiling. With that being said, the team selecting him will need to refine his technical skills like hand placement, pad level and timing. He will likely test well at the NFL Combine and the film he put together this past season should cement him as a first-round talent. Teams highly value offensive line prospects with the kind of starting experience Proctor has but that can make the fundamental issues even more concerning for others.
