During the season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.

The Browns are coming off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but week-to-week, fan confidence only fell by 6 percentage points down to 45%. I think fans have some to grips that the team won’t make the postseason, but are still invested in what they see at the quarterback position, and assume that special teams is only a ‘this season’ problem that can’t stay bad for long. The Browns’ opponents this week, the Tennessee Titans, have 9% confidence from their fanbase in the direction of the team.

We asked one other question to fans this week, and it asking who would have the better game among the rookie quarterbacks this week: Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders? By a large margin, Sanders was the victor with 82% of the vote compared to just 18% for Ward. It might seem like something that is too lopsided, considering Sanders only had two starts under his belt, and Ward was the first overall pick of the draft.

It’s been tough to evaluate Ward as a rookie. He had 7 touchdown passes to 6 interceptions, but the Titans’ offensive line has allowed him to get beat up quite a bit. The Browns, meanwhile, will be having two new starters on the right side of the offensive line this week for a quarterback (Sanders) who also holds on to the ball too long. This poll doesn’t ask about the long-term prospects of these players, but for at least this week, I think Browns fans expect Cleveland’s defense to dominate the game and set Sanders up with more beneficial situations for him to have a better performance.
