It’s week 14 of the NFL season and the New York Jets are home in East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the Miami Dolphins. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST.
The Jets are currently 3-9. They started the season with seven straight losses, but they have turned things around recently, winning three of their last five games.

Tank commanders are rooting for the Jets to lose their remaining games for improved draft position. Others are still rooting for Jets victories. If you’re in the latter category, today’s home game against the Miami Dolphins presents one of the best remaining opportunities to get a win.
The Dolphins have had a season trajectory similar to the Jets. Like the Jets, the Dolphins struggled mightily in their first seven games, going 1-6. Since then, like the Jets, the Dolphins have turned things around, going 4-1 over their last five games. The Dolphins’ defense has been particularly impressive recently, holding opponents to 17 points or less in four of their last five games.

The Jets like to run the ball, and the Dolphins’ achilles heel this season has been run defense. The Dolphins rank 29th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed, and they have given up 150+ rushing yards in six of their 12 games this season. If the Jets are to win this afternoon, they will likely need a big game from Breece Hall and the rest of the Jets running game.
