Rams vs. Cardinals NFL: The matchup
The Rams got a break-check moment last weekend in Carolina, when they had a six-game win streak snapped by Bryce Young and the Panthers (31-28) to boost their own playoff chances. That setback away from home can be a good learning moment for coach Sean McVay and his crew, which still must play three of its next four games away from home. Mistakes showed up in last week’s road environment, with Stafford throwing his first two interceptions since the Rams lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.
The Cardinals are one of four NFC teams already eliminated from the postseason, as they play through a stretch with quarterback Kyler Murray sidelined and big questions to answer about the direction of the franchise beyond the 2025 season. Arizona is just 3-9 overall and sits last in the NFC West, but is still far from guaranteed a top-5 position in the 2026 NFL Draft with a deep group of teams entering Week 14 with records at 4-8 or worse. Prior to games being played, Arizona was on target for the No. 8 pick in the draft.
