Pittsburgh Steelers beat Baltimore Ravens 27-22, taking the lead in the AFC North

The Pittsburgh Steelers went head-to-head against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Stadium in a battle for the lead in the AFC NorthBoth teams had the same record at 6-6 and both were looking to get the win to improve their chances of taking the AFC North and clinching a wild card spot.The first half showcased the defensive rivalry these teams have with both teams playing physical, with only 9 points being recorded in the first half. In Baltimore’s first drive, they would move down the field but be forced to kick a field goal made by rookie kicker Tyler Loop making it 3-0. Pittsburgh would respond in the ensuing drive with Pittsburgh QB Aaron Rodgers running it in for TD. The second quarter would go Pittsburgh’s way with a field goal made by Chris Boswell, making it 10-3. Then, after an interception from Lamar Jackson, Pittsburgh would take advantage and score another TD by RB Kenneth Gainwell, which would bring the score to 17-3 Steelers. The Ravens would respond before halftime with Baltimore’s QB Lamar Jackson calling his own number and running it in for the TD, the first time he would do that since week 1. The game would go into halftime, making it 17-9 after a missed extra point from Tyler Loop.The second half was catch-up time for Baltimore. The 3rd quarter starting with a field goal from Pittsburgh, bringing their lead to 20-9. Baltimore would then respond by making it a one-score game with a TD pass from Lamar Jackson to TE Isiah Likely, bringing it to 20-17. Then, with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Aaron Rodgers connected with RB Jaylen Warren on a short pass for a 38-yard TD, making the score 27-17. The 4th quarter was crunch time for the Ravens as they attempted to come back from a 10-point deficit. Baltimore recorded 2 field-goals which would bring the score to 27-23, Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh would not score any points in the 4th quarter although their defense was able to hold Baltimore off with a minute left on the clock Baltimore attempted a game-winning drive although in the last play of the game Lamar Jackson looked to throw the ball and was sacked, ending the game with Pittsburgh taking the win. This brings Pittsburgh’s record to 7-6 and Baltimore’s record to 6-7, giving the Steelers the lead in the AFC North. Pittsburgh will look to forward their momentum next week as they play the Miami Dolphins at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.While the Baltimore Ravens will need to win out the rest of the season for any playoff hope, as they travel to Paycor Stadium to play the Cincinnati Bengals.
