The Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars all recorded significant wins to boost their playoff chances, while the Indianapolis Colts’ struggles continue. In the NFC, the Green Bay Packers took over the lead in the NFC North with a late home win against the Chicago Bears.
These games, among others, led to movement in our PFSN power rankings this week compared to last. Here’s how the NFL is shaping up entering Week 14, according to our metrics system.
Please note that these rankings are decided entirely by PFSN’s analytical model, rather than the author’s opinion of the teams.

After a 2-0 start, Arizona has lost ten of the next eleven games, and a once-promising season has turned into another empty year. All Arizona can do is play out the remainder of the schedule with nothing to play for, finishing with the Texans, Falcons, Bengals, and Rams.
25) Washington Commanders
Last Week’s Ranking: 23
Eliminated from playoff contention
Jayden Daniels returned to start for the Washington Commanders after missing three games with an elbow injury. Washington was blown out on the road by the Minnesota Vikings to extend the losing streak to eight games.
The Commanders will have a chance to snap their losing streak against the Giants, who are on a seven-game losing streak. Washington will conclude its season with two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and a home game against the Dallas Cowboys.
24) Carolina Panthers
Last Week’s Ranking: 24
Playoff Odds: 48.3%
The Carolina Panthers had a bye in Week 14. The Panthers are 6-1 in one-score games, and their last six wins were by a combined 22 points.

19) Cincinnati Bengals
Last Week’s Ranking: 17
Playoff Odds: 2.5%
The Cincinnati Bengals had a 10-point fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bills and appeared on their way for the second straight game with Joe Burrow back in the lineup. Burrow threw four touchdowns in snowy Buffalo, but his two fourth quarter interceptions fueled the Bills’ 39-34 comeback win.
The Bengals will need to win out and get a lot of help to win the AFC North. They will play the Baltimore Ravens for the second time in three weeks. 6) Detroit Lions
Last Week’s Ranking: 9
Playoff Odds: 47.4%
The Detroit Lions, behind three touchdowns by Jahmyr Gibbs, defeated the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. After going 2-3 in November, a loss would have the Lions’ playoff odds under 20%. Detroit has scored an average of 40.7 points per game in the team’s last three wins; however, it has only managed 19.0 points per game.
After playing on consecutive Thursdays, the Lions get the extra rest heading into Week 15. Detroit will play three of the last four games on the road, starting with a trip to Los Angeles to face the Rams. After hosting the Steelers in Week 16, the Lions will conclude their season against the Vikings and Bears.
5) Houston Texans
Last Week’s Ranking: 7

The Houston Texans found a way to get out of Kansas City with a win using key stops on fourth down and turnovers. It was the tenth time in 13 games the Texans held opponents under 20 points. Houston heads to Week 15 with a five-game winning streak.
Houston controls its own destiny to make the postseason. They have the Cardinals, Raiders, and Colts at home, with the only road game being against the Chargers in Week 17. The Texans also own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Buffalo Bills.
4) Green Bay Packers
Last Week’s Ranking: 5
Playoff Odds: 92.7%
The Green Bay Packers moved into first place in the NFC North after winning a back-and-forth game with the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field. The Packers now have a four-game winning streak heading into the last four games of the season.
Next week, Green Bay visits Denver before moving on to a rematch in Chicago in Week 16. The Week 4 tie against the Cowboys puts the Packers in a unique position where tiebreakers won’t come into play for them unless a team they’re competing with has a tie in the future.
3) Denver Broncos
Last Week’s Ranking: 3
Playoff Odds: 99.9%
The Denver Broncos won their tenth game in a row, eight of which were by one possession. Even though a Raiders field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter cut the lead to seven, making it a one-possession game. Marvin Mims Jr. gave the Broncos the lead in the second quarter when he returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown.
The Broncos still have some work to do to clinch the AFC West, and they are tied with the Patriots for the best record in the AFC. Currently, Denver is slotted as the one seed because it has won one more conference game than New England. The Broncos finish with home games against the Packers, Jaguars, and Chargers, and then play in Kansas City on Christmas night.
