Packers WR Christian Watson talks about his two-touchdown day vs Bears

Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson talks about his 89 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s win over the Bears.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson didn’t need much volume to make a lot of noise.

Watson caught all four of his targets from quarterback Jordan Love, including two for touchdowns, in the Packers’ 28-21 victory over the rival Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field, Dec. 7.

Apparently, the first touchdown Watson scored wasn’t convincing enough for the Bears to switch from man to zone coverage. So, he eventually burned his NFC North division rivals with a second trip to paydirt far ahead of a single defender again.

Watson caught a 23-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 41-yard score in the third when quarterback Jordan Love and recognized single coverage and provided the assists that produced 14 points for the Packers.

Watson, who tore his ACL the last time he played the Bears 11 months ago, had four catches for 89 yards. The 22.5 yards per catch average demonstrates the kind of playmaking ability the Packers saw when they traded up to select him in the second round of the NFL draft four years ago. He has five touchdowns in his last four games.

Packers fans have noticed Watson’s recent resurgence after his return from the knee injury and celebrated his game-changing ability on social media during and after the victory.
