The Miami Dolphins suffered a major injury scare just one week away from the Monday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, as star RB De’Von Achane went down with a rib injury in the second quarter of the matchup against the New York Jets in Week 14 — and HC Mike McDaniel just provided a key update on his availability moving forward.

In the Dolphins’ post-game press conference, McDaniel revealed Achane could’ve returned in an “emergency” situation but made the decision to hold him out. As for his availability against Pittsburgh in Week 15, McDaniel seemed confident that Achane would suit up if healthy enough.

“I promise you, he’ll be in there if he’s ready,” McDaniel told reporters, via ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques.

With around seven minutes left in the first half, Achane was tackled by Jets S Isaiah Oliver following 29-yard rush and the Dolphins running back landed awkwardly on his right side.

Boasting 1,509 yards from scrimmage with an impressive 6.1 yards per touch, Achane could pose a major threat to Pittsburgh’s struggling run defense, with his Week 15 status worth monitoring as both the Steelers and Dolphins prepare for an exciting inter-conference clash on Monday Night Football.
