JPP Re-Signs With Bucs
December 8th, 2025

What a fantastic move today by the Buccaneers signing edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul.

Yeah, it’s a desperation move but the Bucs are a desperate team.

JPP, a hero of the last Buccaneers Super Bowl team and a team member from 2018 through 2021, last played a little for Miami and New Orleans during the 2023 season. He spent a full season with Baltimore in 2022.

JPP has been out of football since and made headlines recently for having his expensive watch stolen at a South Florida club.

The 36-year-old joins the Bucs practice squad. Most important, JPP says he’s in shape and he’s exactly the take-no-prisoners attitude the Bucs need on that side of the ball. Joe is confident Todd Bowles and Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht have asked JPP to unleash his leadership fury in practice.

Joe sees JPP as the Bucs buying a kick in the ass and, maybe, a guy who has a few big pass rushes left in him.

Since he last played in 2023, JPP has done interviews and made it very clear he wants to keep playing. He’s got a goal of reaching 100 sacks (he’s got 94 1/2 in his storied career that includes two Super Bowl rings.)

An athletic freak, Joe has no doubt JPP is a young 36, but make no mistake. This is a miracle play for the Bucs defense.

Joe also suspects the Bucs will ask JPP to counsel Jalen McMillan about playing with confidence following a broken neck. JPP was in that boat with the Bucs and came out strong.

Is it only a matter of time before Ndamukong Suh walks through the door?
