The Houston Texans claimed former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Cody Schrader off waivers, according to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The Jaguars released Schrader over the weekend to make room on the 53-man roster for safety Eric Murray, who was activated from injured reserve.
Jacksonville signed Schrader off the LA Rams‘ practice squad early in the season after the team traded away Tank Bigsby.
As the fourth running back on the Jaguars’ roster behind Travis Etienne, Bhayshul Tuten, and LeQuint Allen, Schrader was a healthy scratch in each game with the Jaguars this season.
An undrafted rookie in 2024 out of Missouri, Schrader played two offensive snaps in Week 18 of last season with LA. He has 25 career special teams snaps as well, per PFF.
The Jacksonville Jaguars‘ 53-man roster currently sits at max capacity.
