The Eagles have lost three in a row after Hurts coughs up a game-losing INT in overtime. The NFC playoff races tighten.

The college basketball season may just be starting, but the Final 4 has arrived. The Dallas Cowboys put themselves into a steep hole for the 2025 season, losing to surprisingly good teams in Chicago and Carolina, and falling to an inept Arizona Cardinals squad. But three wins in a row put them back into the playoff picture, only to lose by double-digits on the road in Week 14 to Detroit on Thursday.

Sitting at 6-6-1, the Cowboys need a ton of help to sniff the postseason in a year when a lot of teams are looking formidable through three quarters of the season. Cowboys Wire identified two teams heading into the weekend that were most at risk of helping Dallas be in contention during their final four games. The Bears did their part to help in Green Bay on Sunday, and now Jalen Hurts has done his part in Los Angeles on Monday.

Hurts had a five-turnover game, including an overtime interception near the Chargers’ goal line, causing the Philadelphia Eagles to lose their third straight game, 22-19.

Hurts’ turnovers started with an NFL first, throwing an interception and losing a fumble all on the same snap. He threw the ball at a Chargers’ defensive lineman, who fumbled it back to Hurts, only for the Eagles’ QB to cough it up when being tackled. He’d go on to throw three more interceptions.

The loss drops the Eagles to 8-5 on the year and keeps the Cowboys within two games of a shocking turnaround in the division. If the two teams finish with the same number of victories, the Cowboys will have the better winning perentage.

Still, catching the Eagles for the NFC East crown is a long shot.

Dallas does have back-to-back home games, hosting the Minnesota Vikings (5-8) on Sunday night football in Week 15 before hosting these same Chargers, who are now 9-4 on the season. The Cowboys close with road games against division rivals Washington and New York.

Even if they win their final two at AT&T Stadium, they’ll have to avoid the late-season rivalry upset that happens so often in the NFL. And they’ll have to do it while hoping the Commanders can pull the move off against the Eagles.

Philadelphia next hosts the lowly Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15, and then sandwich an away-and-home series against Washington around a trip to Buffalo to take on the Bills.
