The New York Giants enjoyed a much-needed bye in Week 14 and now return to close out their season, beginning with a Week 15 matchup against the reeling Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
Following a victory by the Tennessee Titans, the Giants currently have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, but that may be tough to hang onto. In addition to their game against the Commanders, the Giants will host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16, visit the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17, and then close things out at home against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17.
Depending on how the next few weeks shake out, the Cowboys game may become irrelevant, prompting Dallas to sit their starters. If that were to occur, it’s feasible that the Giants win all four games and tumble way down the draft order.
As we enter Week 15, here’s a look at where the Giants place in a multitude of power rankings.

They’re not scheduled to play a team with a winning record the rest of the way … which won’t make it easy to secure that No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft.
The Giants don’t want to be 2-11, but the front office had to be happy to see themselves sitting with the first pick of the NFL Draft with four games to go. That would put them in an advantageous position, though there isn’t some Myles Garrett-level No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft class. The Giants could entertain offers from teams looking for a quarterback though. It’s a lost season but having another high first-round pick is a good consolation.

The Giants got a bye to avoid a loss in Week 14. They will hope for a smarter and healthier Jaxson Dart taking on the Commanders.

They come off their bye focused on keeping Jaxson Dart healthy and getting him more comfortable as the starter. The next question: Who will be the next coach?
The player who has been five minutes late to a pair of meetings (Abdul Carter) is getting advice in the media from the player who once showed up to a meeting locked in handcuffs because, and I quote, “he was with a couple of women the night before and they didn’t have the key.” Only in New York baby.
The vibes in New York are pretty good for such a bad team. There’s excitement about an offense with a healthy Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers, and that defensive line remains menacing. But there’s not a lot of confidence in third-year GM Joe Schoen being part of a long-term fix that includes hiring a new coach, especially in an offseason where there aren’t many obvious candidates.

Bye week.
The Giants would have played closer to the Patriots if it weren’t for all the special teams gaffes they had. It didn’t help that Mike Kafka made a million coaching mistakes throughout the evening.

So maybe it’s not stunning the Giants are last in this category (yard per rush allowed). They’ve struggled to stop the run for three straight years. But this bad? The Giants are allowing a staggering 5.78 yards per rush this season, which is on pace to allow the most yards per rush of any team over at least the past 90 years. You have to go back to 1950 when the New York Yanks allowed 5.63 yards per rush to find their nearest competition.
