The New York Giants are searching for their next head coach after firing Brian Daboll midseason, and as one would expect, some wild suggestions are being floated.
Take NFL insider Jason La Canfora, for example, who has pitched the idea of the Giants swinging a trade for Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

“If [Browns owner Jimmy Haslam] believed that guy was out there, and he could replace Stefanski, he’s obviously thought about coaching trades before,” La Canfora said. “And I do think he could probably do fairly well trading Stefanski. I think Kevin Stefanski would love, love, love to be the next head coach of the New York Giants.”
Stefanski is an offensive-minded head coach who has actually led the Browns to a pair of playoff appearances since taking over as head coach in 2020. Keep in mind that before Stefanski arrived, Cleveland had not made the postseason since the 2002-03 campaign.

You have to figure that Stefanski would absolutely love to coach Jaxson Dart, who has looked very impressive during his rookie campaign for the Giants. Not only that, but New York is returning wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo — both of whom are out for the remainder of 2025 — next season.
The Giants definitely have enough pieces in place to be a very attractive head-coaching destination, and let’s also remember that they could end up with the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft.
Of course, whether or not New York would actually surrender draft capital to acquire Stefanski is the question. The Giants are thin on draft picks as it is, so you would imagine they wouldn’t want to pay the price it would take to land him.

Plus, the Browns might end up firing Stefanski at season’s end, so if Big Blue really wants him, it can just wait to see if Cleveland ultimately parts ways with the 43-year-old.
The Giants are 2-11 on the year and just had their bye week. They will face the Washington Commanders this Sunday.
